This is my acid tank. It is a cheapy aquarium tank that I got at Walmart for $9.00. I also bought a foam bubble curtain and mounted that in the bottom of the tank. I filled it with water just to see what it looked like.

I dumped the water and replaced it with the ferric chloride. Be warned...this stuff is NASTY! It will stain anything and everything and eat metal. I suspended the brass in the tank and let it sit for about 4 hours. This took a lot longer than I was expecting. I used the solution cold and I read that warming it up speeds up the process. I may try that next time.

After 4 hours and about an hour of cleanup, I have my two top and bottom radiator flanges. I used an exacto knife to clean the slots on the top flange. I still need to clean up the bottom one. These slots did not have to be perfect by any means. They will eventually have pieces going through them and solder filling the slots.
